WHAT TO EXPECT

Coaching:

As a 2nd Year student some of you will have the opportunity to coach one or more 1st year students. Coaches will be responsible to organize monthly meetings with your students to connect, discuss progress on goals, maintain accountability, and provide encouragement. Coaches are responsible to encourage their students weekly via texts, emails, and phone calls, as well as spending a minimum of one hour per week at their assigned 1st year house.

Teaching:

As part of Family Night, 2nd years are each assigned a book on leadership and identity to read through chapter by chapter and prepare a 10 – 12 minute teaching, including worksheets to give out to the other students. Every 2nd year student will be assigned Bible studies on various topics of Christian theology.

Ministry Trips:

2nd Years in BSSM have the opportunity to travel with various leaders in the Bethel environment. In Grace Place, 2nd years have first priority on signs-ups for all of Daniel’s ministry trips. In addition, Daniel offers local ministry opportunities exclusively for Grace Place 2nd Years, which are great lower-cost opportunities for connection with Daniel as well as being stretched in ministry alongside your fellow housemates.

Events:

Every Friday morning the 2nd years will be leading a prayer meeting with fellow 2nd and 1st year students. After prayer on Friday, Daniel has all of the 2nd years over to his house for brunch. This is a great time to build deeper connection and grow in leadership. Worship Night and Preach Day are mandatory for 2nd years. All other event nights are optional unless you have not completed the Grace Place 1st Year program. Further leadership opportunities are available upon request by helping interns plan and facilitate events.

Guest Speakers:

Teaching from speakers at the 2nd year house focuses on leadership, accountability, and stewardship within the context of revival. Being a smaller community, Grace Place 2.0 offers a more intimate setting with guest speakers. The smaller setting allows for more Q&A time with leaders Daniel is connected with.
